In case you don’t remember, Marc Johnson, one of the greatest skaters ever, has stirred up the skateboarding community fairly recently by enlisting with Adidas Skateboarding in 2016. The resulting melodrama that took place on social media made for an entertaining read, but now that the dust has settled, it’s clear to see why Marc made the jump from his former sponsor Lakai. If anything, it’s a huge step in Marc long lasting career (he’s like a 105 years old or something, and still comes up with insane trick combos like he doesn’t even give a fuck). Also, he’s now skating for one of the most competent footwear companies on the planet, alongside one of the best teams on the planet. So give the guy a break, will ya? Anyway, Marc’s first release with Adidas is the updated Matchcourt Mid, an 80s tennis classic, in his own colorway. The bright blue (which is Pantone 542, if you care about that sort of thing) is a perfect match (no pun intended) for any Spring session, and the overhauled technology within the kicks make for better board control, cushioning, and possibly tre flips. You can watch a cheerful Marc skating his new kicks in the promotional video below. The Adidas Marc Johnson Matchcourt Mid is now available online and at our store in Frankfurt.
