Adidas X Fucking Awesome 3ST.002 Shoe by Na-Kel Smith

It’s sure telling of Adidas Skateboarding’s confidence in their product to make the premiere of a completely new shoe also a collaboration – with LA-based Fucking Awesome, of all companies. In an effort to give their new 3ST.002 model a head start in the fiercely contested (and kinda bloated) skateboarding shoe market, Adidas teamed up with Supreme’s young gun Na-Kel Smith. The result is a special colorway for a shoe that’s never seen a regular colorway to begin with, because fuck logic, amiright? Not that the shoe doesn’t stand out on its own, though: its sleek silhouette ditches laces in favor of a slip-on design that sits atop a high-traction sole. What’s weird is that despite it’s a slip-on, the shoe is somewhat mid-top: an added mesh sock ensures improved stability. Additionally, where normally you’d find the lacing, there’s now perforated leather to let all the steam out of the shoe. The 3ST.002 is pretty futuristic, alright, and the blue and white colors of the FA version only add to the iRobot vibe we’re getting from it. By the way, 3ST stands for “3 Stripes.” This shouldn’t be a surprise in itself, but seeing as the 3ST.002 doesn’t have any stripes on it, we can only conclude that, again, logic has received a thorough fucking.
