Nike Air Jordan by Nigel Sylvester

The Jordan Brand is probably one of Nike’s most valuable assets, seeing as they’re not only churning out new high-tech basketball shoes seemingly by the minute, but also producing some of the most recognizable lifestyle equipment there ever was. It’s a brand for everybody from straight-up athletes to street hustlers. This ain’t no hyperbole, either: other than basketball and sneaker enthusiasts, Jordan Brand is loved by a range of other athletes including, we shit you not, fucking golfers – and that’s not to mention its immense impact on street wear. Now, Nike got their sights on some of the toughest motherfuckers in the room: BMXers. Collaborating with BMX legend Nigel Sylvester, Nike releases an Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, of course designed by the man himself. Nigel designed the shoe to highlight those parts of the shoe that are under the most stress during BMXing, including scuffed heel and toe caps. Sitting atop a red outsole the off-white upper is made from premium leather and includes a reflective Swoosh. No skateboarding release this time, but we’re happy that our brothers in arms get to make their own mark on the lifestyle juggernaut that is Air Jordan.
