Carpet Company

Carpet Company

In this part of the world, the city of Baltimore, Maryland, is predominantly known for HBO’s The Wire, a show about the city’s drug trade and the persecution thereof. It’s certainly not the first destination of choice for hip, travel-hungry skateboarders, which is why it’s refreshing to see the city being home to another thriving business besides the slinging of crack cocaine: Carpet Company. Run by skateboarders Ayman and Osama Abdeldayem, Carpet’s appeal comes from hand-made boards and apparel, as well as from the incredible attention to detail. Also, Ayman’s and Osama’s Egyptian heritage is evident in most of their designs, giving the brand a distinct middle-eastern aesthetic. It’s worth noting that every item is screen-printed by hand, including individually-numbered decks, at Carpet’s Baltimore headquarters. Started out of their parents’ basement, the whole operation has a distinct DIY vibe to it, giving it a creative edge over more corporate big money ventures. It’s no surprise, then, that Carpet Company is incredibly sought-after, and is frequently selling out due to limited numbers. The two habibis are running a small shop in their hometown, as well, so be sure to check it out when you’re in Baltimore. Needless to say, we’re huge fans of Carpet Company ourselves, and so we’re pretty fucking stoked to carry the brand from hereon out. You can buy Carpet Company at our web shop and our store in Frankfurt.
