If there’s a skater who is entitled to his own shoe, it’s Ishod Wair. Skater of the Year 2013, Mr. Wair is an incredibly talented skateboarder who produces footage at a frequency that puts other pros out there to shame. Seriously, this guy is proof that perpetual motion machines are a physical reality after all. So it’s about time he got his own shoe – or, more accurately, his own version of a famous Nike model: the Dunk. A 1980’s shoe, the Dunk was loved by many skaters even before Nike Skateboarding came into existence, making it a modern classic that is still highly wearable (even more so than many of those awful plastic abominations flooding your Instagram account). Although it saw numerous limited releases in ludicrous colorways in the early days of NIKE SB DUNK LOW, we’re happy that Ishod chose to tone his model down considerably. Available in a low-key Nike black/light graphite and a summery Nike deep royal/white/gym red version, his shoe has both the monochrome and the color-blocking game on point (or “on fleek,” if you’re 13). Also, Ishod removed any unnecessary padding, granting the Dunk much more flexibility and a cleaner look. This one’s a no-brainer, so you’re dealing with a first-come-first-served type of situation right there. Get them in store and online now.
