15 Years of Dunk: Nike SB Dunk Hi “Richard Mulder”

Continuing their walk down Memory Lane, Nike SB have again re-released one of their earliest Dunk SBs, the Richard Mulder Dunk. Originally issued back in 2002 as a low-top, the Richard Mulder Dunk was inspired by eponymous pro skater’s love for baseball team LA Dodgers. For those who don’t know, Richard Mulder was one of the first Nike SB team riders and had the honor – alongside Danny Supa, Reese Forbes and Gino Iannucci – to design his very own Dunk SB pro model, as was Nike’s design strategy at the time. If you haven’t seen Mulder skating yet, head over to YouTube and watch his Mouse part, it’s really good. Today, it’s one of the most sought-after early skateboarding Dunks ever, and they continue to score insane prices over at eBay. Luckily, for all of you who don’t have money to burn, Nike SB releases an updated, albeit high-top version of the Mulder today. And since we all know that history repeats itself, you better move quickly on this one, or else you’ll have to wait until the 15 Years of Dunk celebration to cop another pair of re-re-released Mulders. You can buy the Nike SB Dunk Hi “Richard Mulder” both online or at our store in Frankfurt.
