Fisherman Jokes with Daan Van Der Linden

Hunting for sneakers shares striking similarities with the pastime of fishing. Both require having too much time on your hands, both require you to wear a bucket hat, and both will put your tolerance for boredom to the test. Sitting around all day (and, inexplicably, night), the sneaker enthusiast waits for some exotic release to drop just like the fisherman waits for a fish to take his bait. As the snell suddenly trembles with tension, the sneakerhead’s throat tightens up with gleeful excitement about the catch he’s soon going to make. The fisherman quickly reels in his prey, and from behind the counter surfaces the first box of some limited grail the colors of a rainbow fish. The fisherman’s joy of successfully retrieving a gill-bearing sea creature from the depths of a body of water triggers a similar neurological response as purchasing hard-to-get sneakers, a dopamine rush that compensates for the dreadful lethargy both had to suffer through. However, there is one noticeable difference: anglers usually have longer rods. Anglers usually have a longer rod. Incidentally, Daan Van Der Linden is known to have the longest. The Nike SB pro is a passionate hobby angler. Nike has now granted Daan the opportunity to give the relatively new BLZR Court the appropriate fisherman’s look. The colors are borrowed from the typical angler rainbow, so kept earth-colored. Along the Swoosh, you can find an embroidered fishing hook with a lure, and on the heel, there’s a patch with Daan’s name on it (plus a trout, go figure). To conclude this elaborate knock on sneaker culture, allow us to share our favorite fishing joke: why is it so easy to weigh fish? ‘Cause, they have their own scales. You can buy Daan’s BLZR Court at our web shop and our store in Frankfurt from Friday May 15th.
