Nike SB pro Hjalte Halberg, one of modern European skateboarding’s figureheads, and his buddy, the skateboarder and filmer Anton Juul, just launched their first skate brand, Dancer. Based in Hjalte’s and Anton’s hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark, the brand’s name aptly reframes the activity of skateboarding as a performing art involving movement. By their own admission, Dancer emphasizes the use of organic and recycled materials, embracing an ecological responsibility that’s not all too common in the skateboarding industry. Adding to Dancer’s vision of quality is the fact that their clothing is made in the EU and USA, and hand-printed in Copenhagen. Speaking of prints, the graphics are on the artsy side, favoring small doodles instead of large-scale prints. The company’s logo, a horribly deformed infant (yup), reminds the assigned author of this post of the evil baby from the cult classic Dead Alive. At any rate, we’re hyped to offer y’all Dancer at our web shop and our store in Frankfurt.
