Most recently, we received a fresh batch of New Balance Numeric kicks. As longtime fans of New Balance’s competence in making technologically advanced sneakers, we’re happy to see them aboard the skateboarding bandwagon. Given New Balance Numeric’s impressive team roster including skate legends PJ Ladd and Arto Saari and newcomers like Tom Knox and Axel Cruysberghs, we’re confident the brand will continue to push skateboarding technology to the next level.
We’ve ordered some tech-heavy shoes like the 868, a behemoth of a skate shoe that comes with Numeric’s Ndure rubber sole for increased durability and the N2 heel cushioning technology that will absorb the impact of even the most suicidal gaps. The 598, on the other hand, looks less like a secret NASA project and more like a traditional soccer shoe, including a double-stitched Ollie area and a sturdy cup sole. For those of you who like it vulcanized, we have the Brighton 345 and the Quincy 254 (finally, some names everyone can remember), both in black, and both of which feature double-stitched Ollie areas and Nubuck leather. Maybe the most interesting shoe, at least design-wise, is the tennis-inspired 505 model which comes with a suede patch supporting the Ollie area (available in black and white).
