Elissa Steamer, one of the pioneers of female skateboarding and the first ever female skateboarder to be featured in a video game, sat down with Nike SB to release the special Gnarhunters Blazer Mid. While lesser known in Europe, Gnarhunters is Steamer’s own brand focusing on skateable apparel and accessories. Elissa’s take on the iconic Blazer Mid is rather straightforward: the black Nubuck upper is contrasted by a light-colored Swoosh. The Swoosh itself is embossed with the Gnarhunters logo, which also makes an appearance on the outsole. In addition, the Nike lettering on the hell was formatted into the Gnarhunters typeface. It’s a no-bullshit release, forgoing bright and flashy colors for a down-to-earth design. We’d expect nothing less from a proven skate legend like Elissa Steamer.
