2013’s SOTY Ishod Wair is well-known for his laid-back yet inventive style, a characteristic reflected in his recent take on the classic Nike SB Bruin model. Dubbed the Bruin, and releasing as part of the ongoing Orange Label series (ISO in skateshops only), Ishod’s newest pro shoe underwent a major overhaul. In fact, its upper construction is now two-faced: while the lateral sides of the shoes are made of classic suede, the medial sides feature a mesh construction. Separating the different materials is a small nylon strip that features Nike SB branding. In addition, Ishod’s name was placed beneath the Nike SB tongue label. Thankfully, Ishod chose two restrained colorways (one’s all black, the other’s mainly Sequoia), seeing as the upper’s split construction already constitutes a bold design choice.
