Nike SB Rivals Pack (Biggie vs. Tupac)

Nike SB Rivals Pack (Biggie vs. Tupac)

The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. Back in the 90s, those two names alone were sufficient to end relationships: either you were West Side or your were East Side, with no middle ground in between – or so the story goes. Both rappers rose to exceptional stardom in an exceptionally short period of time, and their former love for each other was quickly replaced by hate of equal strength along the way. Long story short, the one got clipped and then the other got clipped in retaliation. That’s tragic and all, but it’s 2018 now, and both Tupac and Biggie Smalls soon will be longer dead than they were alive. So moving on: today, you don’t have to chose between both coasts. Today, Spotify algorithms place Biggie and 2pac songs back to back. Today, you won’t get whacked in Los Angeles for wearing a B.I.G. shirt (not actually confirmed so don’t take our word for it). Because pledging loyalty to anything is so 1995, and we’re all undecided millennials here, you can simply confess your love for either rapper with Nike SB’s new Denim Pack. Both models, the Air Force 2 and the Dunk Low TRD, are made from denim and are unofficially inspired by Tupac and Biggie, respectively. Seeing as they’re dead for some time now, but not quite long enough for licenses to expire, the shoes are decidedly not official Biggie and Tupac releases, but rather obvious nods to both artists’ legacies. Appropriately, the Dunk’s light denim and plaid inside are an homage to Biggie’s iconic style, while the AF2’s dark raw denim upper and paisley insoles clearly hint at 2Pac’s most popular outfit. Oh, and in case you wanna go all the way: the shoe release also comprises a pair of matching caps. The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur: the rap legends might be dead, but their marketing potential lives on forever. So it goes. Effective immediately, you can buy the Nike SB Denim Pack both at our online store and at our shop in Frankfurt.
