Polar Skate Co. Summer 2016
Share
Surprise, suprise! Just when we thought summer was never going to come around in Europa, the new Polar Skate Co. Summer drop arrived at our doorstep, and it features some grade A stuff. As you may have come to expect from Pontus and his gang, the collection features plenty of typically Swedish minimalist design and some quite sophisticated graphics. Again, every item’s quality is astonishing and worth your hard-earned cash. So let’s round ‘em up for roll call, shall we?
Seated in the front row are the stars of the collection: the Golf club pullover, a hybrid of a windbreaker and hoody, is perfect for mild Summer nights. Available in black and red, the Gold club’s hood can be packed into the collar, which adds just the right amount of functionality to the wind and water resistant item.
Next to the Golf club, there’s the Herrington jacket, a workwear-inspired coach jacket of sorts, complete with elastic cuffs and waistband and Polar logo embroidery on the left chest. It’s available in a color called “golden brown,” and it’s an item you might want to keep around for Fall, its eventual arrival being as safe as the Bank of England.
Next up are the 90s pants, which are not entirely new, but this time we ordered a special faded red colorway. It’s also available in stone washed blue, for those who don’t fancy the red version.
As usual, the t-shirt game is strong with Polar’s Summer collection. Standing out among the basic Stroke logo tees (available in black, white, red and blue) are the What You Looking At Idiot t-shirt, which features a continuously downscaled text, the Happy Sad tee, which features Pontus’ hobby of drawing smileys on stuff and the Doodle tee, which features exactly that: doodles of some guys standing about, claiming that they “can rule this world.” If they say so. The t-shirt drop is concluded by two very nice-looking striped t-shirts, one pink, one turquoise. They look like 1990’s golf shirts, except for the missing collar. They go great together with the stone washed 90s jeans. Last but not least, the shipment also contained a black Default hoody, with a reticent Polar lettering printed front and center on the chest. Also, Ii’s made of really heavy cotton (300 grams).
However, it wouldn’t be a Polar drop without the usual assortment of caps, would it? The all-new Stroke logo 6-panel caps feature Polar logos stitched to the front and are available in turquoise, navy, black and golden brown (remember?), while the Plain caps feature no logo at all but only tone-in-tone Polar Skate Co. stitching on the back. The Script logo caps, on the other hand, stand out because of their water resistant, slightly shiny coating. They’re available in blue, red and black.
Wow, that’s a lot to digest, isn’t it? Polar is cooking with gas now, and their products are on the fucking point. We recommend you move quickly, as this collection will probably last as long as our German summer, which isn’t very long. Not very long at all.
