Trip safety is of great importance. As international tourism has been reduced significantly and people can’t go to exotic places to Instagram the shit out of white beaches and ridiculously oversized Pina Coladas in decapitated pineapples, a rising number of travel-starved folk opt for booking a trip on Hallucinogenic Drugs Airlines. However, because your brain does a lot of the heavy lifting for you (like, you know, thinking and controlling your movement and stuff), someone must watch you while you board the acid train. There’s stuff in the far reaches of your mind you probably won’t want to meet alone. Anyway, having a Safe Trip is paramount, and it’s also the name of Pop Trading Company’s recent partner in crime. Safe Trip, a Dutch record label that also sells merch, subscribes, as you would expect, to electronic music, often to the weird kind. Founded by Young Marco in 2015, they got a pretty cool operation going on, and if you’re into electronic music, you either already know about them — or you should check ‘em out. Based in Amsterdam, Safe Trip signs mostly underground artists, which is always nice, and puts a strong emphasis on house and psychedelic electro. They also do this thing where they describe each record in detail, much like we do with our products on this blog, and such special care is commendable. As a tip, you should check out their compilation Welcome to Paradise, which includes great paradisiacal sounds that’ll make you feel like you’re at some pristine beach Instagramming the shit out of your well-tanned sausage legs. Finally getting into the collection they created with Pop Trading Company, you can see that the fundamental inspiration was drawn from hallucinogenic drug trips. The centerpiece is a zip-up overshirt featuring amorphous patterns (sounds paradoxical, and maybe it is, but such is the nature of a good trip). It’s kinda tough to look at, but if you can pull it off, it’ll make you the coolest dude in the room. The overshirt is complemented by an assortment of other garments, including a hoody and a t-shirt. Also, you may increase your record collection with a collaborative release that will also be available when the collection launches on Saturday, October 24. You can buy the Pop Trading Company x Safe Trip collab at our web shop and our store in Frankfurt.
