Na-Kel Smith, professional skateboarder for Fucking Awesome and Adidas Skateboarding, rapper, actor, and LA local, issues not one but two special editions of Adidas’ vintage Nizza model. The vulcanized basketball kicks have been around since the mid-70s, and while they’re certainly not used on the court anymore, they still make for damn near perfect skate shoes today. That’s why Na-Kel didn’t have to change much when it came to reinterpreting the Nizza; in fact, he just gave ‘em a new coat of paint, leaving the original double suede upper and toe cap construction untouched. Speaking of the new look, it’s evident that the Nizza Hi’s lime-green color somewhat matches Na-Kel’s aesthetic perfectly well, seeing as the man is very much inclined towards the 80’s punk look in the vein of Dead Kennedys, The Exploited, etc. Also, he has green hair, so there ya go. The Nizza Low’s black upper and sole are contrasted by a thin red foxing stripe going around the shoe. Both models are made of premium long hair suede and come with Na-Kel’s custom pins. Na-Kel’s interpretation of the Nizza for Adidas Skateboarding will be available at our webshop and our store in Frankfurt from tomorrow August 10th.
