The new Solo Skate Mag Collection

The new Solo Skate Mag Collection

When one of our favorite print publications, the Monster Skateboarding Magazine, was shutting up shop a couple of years ago, we were quite saddened. Sure, skateboarding is movement, and movement is precluded from photographs, but the Monster Magazine had its very own aesthetic and writing style that made reading it worthwhile – even though the newest, sickest video part was just a touch away on our iPhones. Naturally, we were very excited to hear that former Monster employees were founding a magazine of their own, called Solo. Today, we think that Solo is one of the best magazines on the arguably small market of skateboarding print publications and we’re happy to work with them on projects such as our annual Jam of Mainhattan.

Today, Solo releases their first-ever apparel collection which was inspired by Olym – we’re sorry – which is reminiscent of memorable sports-related things and events. The collection comprises a six-panel cap, a t-shirt, a longsleeve and a coach jacket, all of which look pretty fucking dope. We don’t know exactly where the design inspiration for the collection’s logo comes from, but its aesthetic certainly reminds us of some ancient sports competition from Southern Europe. But maybe that’s just us. You can buy the Solo spring collection from today – both online and at our shop in Frankfurt.
