Vans X Alltimers, The Lonely Tinder Match

Vans X Alltimers, The Lonely Tinder Match

Before we get into the collection proper, first let’s indulge in a little joke critique courtesy of yours truly, the German Humor Police. NYC-based company Alltimers is known for their tongue-in-cheek approach to running a skateboard label, and the press release pertaining to their recent collaboration with Vans pretty much reflects this. It says that their working together had not only been facilitated by having matched with Vans founder Steve Van Doren on Tinder but also that this match was the only result they had ever gotten swiping right. Which is a kinda, sorta funny way of saying that it’s a perfect match or whatever. At any rate, the dudes from Alltimers probably never thought about the fact that it takes two to get a match on Tinder, and that therefore their repeated matching with Von Doren was probably caused by a lack of interest by literally anyone else but the Vans boss. Anyway, despite the all the confusion about how online dating platforms work, the collection is indeed a success. Front and center of the Vans x Alltimers drop are two Sk8-Mid Pro LTDs, one in traditional navy and one in true white. Both versions feature translucent Vans stripes as well as small cartoon characters embroidered to both sides of the heels (a little dragon that sort of looks like Spyro and a cute little doggie, to be more precise). The shoe’s opposite sides, by the way, are checkered, while the outward-facing side are kept plain and simple. The drop also includes a thematically appropriate tee and beanie. You can buy the Vans x Alltimers capsule collection from November 30th at our web shop and our store in Frankfurt.
