Jerry Hsu’s notoriously hard-to-get brand Sci-Fi Fantasy teamed up with Vans for a small capsule collection. Selling out instantly, Jerry’s Sci-Fi Fantasy collections drop seemingly at random. Sometimes, there are large gaps in-between releases, making the brand even more of a tease for streetwear folks looking to flex some under-the-radar shit. Although Sci-Fi Fantasy might easily be regarded as a skate and streetwear brand, its creative direction resists classification just like its owner: Jerry became pro in the late 1990s and is featured in several legendary videos. He’s got standout parts in 1999 Osiris video The Storm, in legendary crew video Tilt Mode Army: Man Down, in Enjoi’s Bag of Suck, and finally in Emerica’s seminal film Stay Gold. One of his best parts Jerry shared with longtime friend Louie Barletta in Subject to Change. Although Jerry’s been pro on some of the most illustrious brands in skateboarding, he’s pursued photography and art early on. In 2018, Jerry turned his back to pro skating, bringing his idiosyncratic sense of style to his photography projects and ventures such as Sci-Fi Fantasy. Anyway, the Vans x Sci-Fi Fantasy collection might be the easiest way to get your hand on the elusive brand: comprised of a Sk8-Hi Pro, and Old Skool Pro, a cap and a jersey, the capsule’s a pretty colorful affair. It’s also going to be a pretty short-lived one, as well: expect the stuff to be outta stock quickly. You can buy Vans x Sci-Fi Fantasy at our web shop and our store in Frankfurt.
