When Shawn Stussy scribbled his signature onto his self-made surf boards back in the early 80s, he probably had no idea that his name would one day become synonymous with the California lifestyle. Although, if you think about it, that’s not quite the right way to put it. Stussy didn’t become synonymous with the easygoing surf’s up way of life, but actually helped form it. Sure, it existed before as a localized lifestyle, but Stussy was able to turn it into a street wear brand that enabled non-Californians and non-surfers to catch a glimpse into a world where the sun is always shining and the waves are always right. Soon, it became insanely popular among all sorts of subcultures, including hip hop, skateboarding, and punk folks. Over the course of thirty-odd years, Stussy has collaborated with brands like Nike SB, BAPE, Dickies, and, most recently, Dover Street Market. As a result, Stussy’s magnetic attraction hasn’t waned one bit to this day, and we’re happy to announce that the company has made its way into our brand portfolio.
